Stange Law Firm, we've got experience with all types of
divorce cases, from the cases that are settled amicably to the complex cases that ultimately have to be resolved at a hearing.
To settle a divorce, I mean, you really have to agree on 100 percent everything. In other words, you've got to deal on how you're going to divide property and debt. You've got to agree on custody. You have to agree on child support. You have to agree on maintenance. And what can trip up a lot of these divorces is that some parties can agree on 80, 90 percent of it. But there's maybe the 10 to 20 percent of it they just can't agree on it. And that'll put them on really a contested divorce track.
Our firm does practice mediation. My partner at the firm is a licensed mediator and collaborative lawyer. And she works with clients on these types of cases all the time.
Common sense solutions when it comes to divorces is really looking at a case and then finding a reasonable expectation for where this case in all likelihood is going to end up and then trying to work with your client to get them to understand where that reasonable outcome might be and then working with the other attorney to do the same thing.
