Chen Zhao is a Junior Associate Attorney at Stange Law Firm, PC. She can assist clients with their divorce and family law matters from the firm’s Union, MO family law office in Franklin County.

Chen attended Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri where she earned her Juris Doctorate in May of 2021. While in law school, she received the Scholar in Law Award, a merit-based honor. Chen also participated in Moot Court, was a member of the Post-Conviction Relief Clinic, and served as the Secretary for the China Law Society. Before law school, Chen earned her Bachelor of Law degree from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. While earning her undergraduate degree, she was a member of the Baidu Club, a student organization focused on professional development. She also served as a Volunteer for the Elderly Care Program where she assisted senior citizens on a weekly basis by preparing meals and providing emotional support. Chen is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri.

Before joining the Union, MO divorce attorneys at Stange Law Firm, PC, Chen spent time as a Summer Fellow for the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization at Yale Law School. In this role, she communicated with clients and social workers on eviction and foreclosure issues, conducted research and wrote memoranda, and reviewed and analyzed memoranda and briefs on fair housing, eviction, and foreclosure while providing comments and suggestions. Chen also spent time as a Legal Intern for a law office in St. Louis where she was tasked with conducting research and drafting memoranda on various legal issues, assisted in the drafting of summary judgment pleadings, and drafted interrogatories and request for production, as well as a motion to dismiss under the false light theory in an invasion of privacy action.
