Elisa Leighton, Esq.

Associate Attorney

When facing a family law matter, the choice in representation is an important decision and it is imperative to work with someone who can compassionately and effectively guide you through your matter. Elisa Leighton is a caring Associate Attorney for Stange Law Firm, PC, serving St. Charles County and surrounding areas from the firm’s St. Charles office.

Elisa completed her undergraduate degree at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, majoring in Political Science and Dance, while minoring in French and History. She graduated from the Honors College and earned the David R. Williams Political Science Award for excellence in political science, and for achieving the highest GPA in the major. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University Law School in Lexington, Virginia. While there she was members of some campus interest groups, such as the Public Interest Law Society Association, the Women Law Student Organization, the American Constitution Society, and she served as President for the local Saint Thomas More Society chapter. Elisa is currently licensed to practice in the State of Missouri.

Elisa’s legal experience includes working at the Community Legal Practice Center at Washington and Lee Law School, where students take on clients that come for legal services. Most of the cases involve divorce, custody, and the creation of wills. Each student attorney worked under the supervision of a licensed attorney to reach the final solution. She also worked as a McThenia Research Assistant for the Washington and Lee Law Library where she assisted professors with their projects. She is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a group promoting education, women’s rights, and historic preservation. She has received the honor of Outstanding Page of the Year twice since joining in 2011. In addition, she worked on the state level as Junior Bazaar Chairman in charge of sales for the Helen Pouch Memorial Fund.

In her free time, Elisa enjoys traveling, playing video games, reading, and volunteering.
