Merce’de earned her Juris Doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis, MO in 2010. While in law school, she showed key leadership skills serving as the Academic Co-chair and Bonds Mentor for the Black Law Student Association. Merce’de obtained her Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish, graduating cum laude, from the same university in 2007. While earning her undergraduate degree, she made the Dean’s List while also serving as the Publicity Chair, Vice President, and Webmaster for the Black Pre-Law Society. Merce’de has also spent time studying abroad in Spain and Chile where she studied both Spanish civilization and conversation, and Chilean history, literature, and politics. Merce’de is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri.

 

Before joining the St. Charles family lawyers at Stange Law Firm, PC, Merce’de spent the last 12 years serving as a Missouri State Public Defender where she was able to obtain favorable outcomes for clients facing various misdemeanor and felony charges through negotiation and trial work, including many high profile cases. In this role, she served as an Assistant Public Defender IV for the Columbia Trial Office, and as a Senior Attorney II for both the St. Charles Trial Office and the Clayton Trial Office. Merce’de prides herself on her attention to detail and her thorough investigation skills, while also being able to maintain effective client communication. She also has knowledge of conversational Spanish to better assist her clients.
