Dakota Britt is a compassionate Team Leader Attorney with Stange Law Firm, PC who can represent clients throughout Kansas City and the surrounding areas from the firm’s Kansas City, MO office location.
Dakota completed his undergraduate degree at Graceland University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice while minoring in Business, English, and Human Services. While there, he was a captain and member of the Graceland wrestling team and earned the Freeman Student-Athlete Award, which is given to the senior varsity athlete with the highest cumulative GPA on each varsity team. He was also Vice President of the Student Senate and Board Member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Dakota earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock School of Law. During his time there, he was a full time representative of the Student Bar Association for multiple years and was a member of the Barrister’s Ball Committee. He is currently licensed to practice in the State of Missouri.
Dakota was named a Rising Star Honoree by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers Magazine in 2023. This award, chosen through a patented multiphase selection process that includes peer nominations, evaluations, and independent research, recognizes no more than 2.5% of attorneys in the state. He is also Lead Counsel Rated for divorce and family law. Since 1997, Lead Counsel Status Verified has been granted to attorneys who possess the right professional experience and a spotless record.
Prior to joining Stange Law Firm, Dakota participated in the Bowen School of Law Litigation Clinic getting valuable experience in family law. He drafted a wide variety of documents relating to domestic relations and guardianship matters, as well as a variety of correspondences including legal memorandums, closing memorandums, and status updates of pending cases. He worked closely with clients who were going through divorce and family law matters. He then moved on to work as a Law Clerk at a firm in Little Rock, Arkansas that worked on numerous cases relating to domestic relations, contracts, personal injury, property, probate, and criminal law. While there he assisted in depositions, client meetings, and trial preparations.
While not assisting clients, Dakota enjoys participating in a variety of different sports. He currently competes in power lifting and also enjoys hiking.
