Bruce Hopson is a dedicated Senior Associate Attorney with Stange Law Firm, PC. Bruce earned his Juris Doctorate from University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri. Before earning his J.D., he attended the same university for his undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Journalism. Bruce is licensed and ready to help clients in the State of Missouri and is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the American Association for Justice, and the Lawyers Association of St. Louis.
Before joining the Jefferson County family law attorneys at Stange Law Firm, PC, Bruce worked many years in various legal roles, gaining valuable trial and case preparation experience. His experience includes working as an attorney at a law firm based in Jefferson City, Missouri where he mainly handled cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, and professional licensing and tax issues. In this role, he wrote settlement letters for over 100 clients, negotiated lien reductions with Medicaid and other health care providers, drafted documentation, and successfully litigated cases. Bruce also gained legal experience working as an attorney at a prominent personal injury law firm in the St. Louis, MO area. His work there included representing clients, helping clients negotiate settlements, drafting litigation documents, including petitions, motions, affidavits, and proposed court orders, while also maintaining regular client communication. Bruce also previously had his own law practice in St. Louis, where his work included drafting and preparing estate plans for individuals and couples, including wills, trusts, and medical directives. He is eager to utilize his litigation and negotiation skills to help his clients rebuild their lives.
Outside of his legal work, Bruce is an avid swimmer. He swam for the University of Missouri on scholarship and still continues to compete as a Masters swimmer, including on the national level.
