Olivia Mitchell, Esq.
Family law matters such as divorce are difficult for anyone to face. When these issues arise, it is important to have someone on your side who will work to protect your rights and be there for you when you need it the most. Olivia Mitchell is a compassionate Junior Associate Attorney with Stange Law Firm, PC. Located in our Clayton, MO family law office location, she is ready and able to assist individuals throughout St. Louis County, MO and the surrounding areas.
Olivia obtained her Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law in May 2021. While in law school, she was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship while also serving as the Treasurer for the Black Lawyer Student Association. She was also a member of the Street Law Student Organization, the First Chair Society and a SLU Law Admissions Ambassador. Before attending law school, Olivia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri – Columbia, graduating Cum Laude. While earning her undergraduate degree, Olivia also was an Outstanding Senior Recipient for Research, a TRIO CAT Scholarship recipient and was given the First Generation Scholar Award. She also served as Treasurer of the Human Development and Family Studies Student Association and was a member of the Black Collegians Gospel Choir. Olivia is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri.
Prior to joining the St. Louis Family Lawyers at Stange Law Firm, PC, Olivia served as a Student Attorney for the SLU Law Civic Advocacy Clinic. In this role, she managed assigned civil litigation cases for Mission: STL, prepared legal defenses for clients in civil court, utilized effective communication skills with clients to discuss legal matters and strategies, and completed various other legal and clerical tasks. Olivia also spent time as a Legal Intern for the United States Attorney’s office in the Southern District of Illinois. In this role, she conducted legal research covering various cases, drafted several key legal documents, observed and assisted with witness interviews, and helped to prepare interrogatories. Prior to her work in the legal field, Olivia also spent many years as a social worker for various organizations where she gained experience with complying with federal, state, and local law as well as organizational policies and procedures. She would regularly collaborate with attorneys in providing position reports to various courts; oversee face to face interviews; develop and execute individual treatment plans; facilitate group discussions; and also work as a team to help facilitate any needed care.
When she is not busy assisting her clients, Olivia enjoys cooking, traveling and visiting the library with her kids. She is an avid reader and really enjoys the sensation reading old books.
