Rebecca Strauss, Esq.
When facing a difficult divorce or family law matter, you may feel lost or betrayed by those you love. Having an attorney that can understand what you are going through, and be there for you when you need them the most, can make all of the difference. Rebecca Strauss is an empathetic Associate Attorney at Stange Law Firm, PC. She is able to represent clients in Sangamon County and the surrounding areas from the firm’s Springfield, Illinois family law office.
Rebecca attended the University of Michigan School of Law in Ann Arbor, MI where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2020. While in law school, she spent time working as a Student Attorney for both the Michigan Pediatric Advocacy Clinic and the Michigan Human Trafficking Clinic as well as a 711-Licensed Legal Intern for the Center for Disability & Elder Law. Before earning her law degree, Rebecca received her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Studies from the same university. Rebecca is licensed and ready to help her clients in the State of Illinois.
Before joining the Springfield, IL family lawyers at Stange Law Firm, Rebecca spent that last year working as a Staff Attorney for Equip for Equality, an organization dedicated to advancing the human & civil rights of people with disabilities in Illinois. In this role, she was tasked with managing a large caseload in matters relating to anti-discrimination, community integration, neglect and abuse, and guardianship. This role also allowed her to gain valuable trial and teamwork skills. Her past experience as a Student Attorney and a Legal Intern also allowed her to gain experience with executing power of attorney documents and living will declarations for low-income seniors and people with disabilities across the Chicagoland area, preparing simple wills and transfer on death instruments, resolving housing issues, and appearing in court for divorce hearings. She also worked to draft court documents and visitation schedules in family law cases in her role with the Michigan Pediatric Advocacy Clinic.
